Unexpected Surprise for JetBlue Passengers at JFK Airport

Over the weekend, some lucky passengers at New York's JFK Airport were in for a surprise. As they entered Terminal 5, they had the chance to take pictures with none other than the legendary video game character, Mario.

Nintendo Switch On the Go Initiative

As a part of an initiative called "Nintendo Switch On the Go", Nintendo has transformed a small area of Terminal 5 into a gaming sanctuary dedicated to Mario and Nintendo Switch. Families were invited to the hub, which was located in one of the terminal's public lounge areas.

Children were given a chance to take pictures with a person dressed as Mario. Some even got to wear Mario's iconic red cap for their photo op.

Switch Games on Display

Several Nintendo Switch games were available for families and their children to play. The selection included top-selling titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Other games on display included Mario Party Superstars, Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the Mario Vs. Donkey Kong remake, and Princess Peach: Showtime!.

Pop-Up at Terminal 5 Until April 20

If you're flying in or out of New York, make sure to stop by Terminal 5. You can play games, charge your Switch, and even get a picture with Mario. The pop-up will be there till April 20.

The initiative might not be limited to JFK airport. Considering the name "Nintendo Switch On the Go", we might see similar pop-ups in major cities around the world.

Does Mario Live at JFK Now?

With Mario's constant presence at the terminal, it's hard not to wonder if he's taken up residence there. Could this be a scenario similar to the 2004 comedy The Terminal, where the character is stuck at the airport?
