Final Fantasy VII Rebirth packs a ton of different ways to equip and spec out your characters with higher stats and new abilities.
One such way is Steal, which lets you steal stuff from enemies. While it's not essential, Steal can come in handy for snagging certain items, equipment, and crafting components.
Where to Get Steal Materia
To steal something in Rebirth, you'll need the Steal command, granted from the Steal materia.
Slot that in and you can snag stuff from your foes.
You can get Steal materia from:
- Shops
- Solemnitude Manor in Corel Prison
- Yuffie's starting loadout
Steal is affected by your luck stat. Combining it with Luck Up materia and characters with naturally high Luck is wise.
What Should You Steal in Rebirth
Stealing is a bit undercooked in Rebirth. You're not going to access wildly broken farming resources or rare items.
Some of the most useful stuff to snag from foes are items, which means you can't use them in Hard mode, Rebirth's endgame difficulty.
Celeris: A Useful Item
Celeris lets you cast Haste on a target, speeding up your attack speed. Using an item doesn't drain MP.
You can steal Celeris from the following enemies:
- Aggrevrikon - Fiend Intel 5 in Grasslands
- Bandit - Phenomenon Intel 3 in Grasslands
- Beck - Phenomenon Intel 4 in Grasslands
- Burke - Phenomenon Intel 4 in Grasslands
- Butch - Phenomenon Intel 4 in Grasslands
- Levridon - O Chicken Where Art Thou sidequest
- Levrikon - Roaming in the Grasslands
Steal Crafting Components
Many monsters carry items used in crafting via the Item Transmuter option in the main menu.
To see which items an enemy has that's stealable, simply Assess them. You'll see what items are available on the left side of the screen.
You can check the stats of any enemy you've previously scanned, including what items are stealable and morphable using the Morph materia in the menu under Enemy Intel.
Steal Helpful Restorative Items
Gigapotions, which restore 3000 HP, are very handy. You can steal these from Devil Riders during the Hustle and Grind sidequest.
Megapotions restore 1500 HP and can be stolen from Rude and the smaller Tonberries that spawn during the Tonberry King boss fight.
Turbo Ethers restore your MP and are helpful during Easy, Normal, or Dynamic difficulty runs. You can snag Turbo Ethers from:
- 2C SOLDIERS - Temple of the Ancients Chapter 13
- Abzu - Boss fight during the arena showdown in Chapter 12
Elixirs fully restore HP and MP and can be stolen from Roche during his boss fights.
Snag the Fortitude Ring from Reno
The Fortitude Ring is an accessory that raises a character's vitality and spirit by 50. You can steal this item from the boss fight with Reno.
Steal might not feel immediately useful the first time you get it, but it can help you keep stock of handy items, especially on multiple runs of the campaign.
