I've thoroughly enjoyed my time exploring the open-world samurai action game, Rise of the Ronin, an exclusive PlayStation 5 release by Team Ninja, set to launch on March 22. The game is rich with features, including a multitude of cats to pet and a wide range of choices that determine your lifestyle during the Bakumatsu period, the final years of the Shogunate in Japan.

The game echoes Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch Productions, but has more similarities with a less-known samurai game from the early 2000s. It feels as if this lesser-known game paved the way for Rise of the Ronin.
