Which Popular Video Game Doesn't Suit You?

Every gamer has their preferred selections, from timeless gems like Super Mario Bros., Final Fantasy, Tetris, to newer hits like The Last of Us, Halo, or Uncharted. Some games we enjoy, but they never quite make it to our list of favorites. Then, there are those games that we're absolutely certain are not for us.

So, what game or franchise just doesn’t resonate with you? Perhaps you've given a game like Grand Theft Auto a fair shot and found it didn't click. Or maybe there's a franchise you haven't even played, but from the trailer alone, you know it's not for you.
Personal Experience
Speaking personally, I've found the Dark Souls games to be a tough sell. While I respect the series and understand its appeal, I've struggled to engage with it. It's not the soulslike/soulsborne genre that's the issue, but specifically the Dark Souls trilogy.
The franchise's use of dark medieval fantasy and challenging gameplay, while intriguing, requires a level of commitment that I find daunting. I enjoy difficult games, but the combination of punishing gameplay and a grim atmosphere isn't appealing to me.
Other Experiences
Despite this, I've enjoyed other games in the genre, including Elden Ring by From Software. I also enjoyed Deck 13’s sci-fi soulslike The Surge, which had a relatable premise about environmental destruction.
I don't mind a challenge. The NES platformer Metal Storm gave me a run for my money last year, but I persisted and eventually completed it. Also, I absolutely adore survival horror games, even with their arguably clunky mechanics.
Yet, for some reason, Dark Souls just doesn’t work for me.
