Sonic 3 Writers Dream of Crafting a Zelda Movie Adventure
Video game adaptations are becoming increasingly popular, and with the release of Sonic 3, the buzz around potential future projects is growing. Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the co-writers of Sonic 3, have shared their thoughts on what games they would love to see turned into movies. Among their top picks are titles like A Boy and His Blob, Golden Axe, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. These games hold a special place in their hearts, and the idea of bringing them to the big screen is exciting for both the writers and fans alike.
Dream Projects for the Big Screen
During a recent interview, Casey and Miller expressed their enthusiasm for adapting certain video games into movies. They have already signed on to write the screenplay for a movie adaptation of It Takes Two, produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. However, their passion doesn't stop there.
- Golden Axe: A classic multiplayer game on the Mega Drive.
- A Boy and His Blob: A unique and heartfelt adventure.
- Cool Spot: A 1993 platformer featuring the 7-Up mascot.
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker: A beloved and cinematic adventure.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Miller's suggestion of a Wind Waker movie caught significant attention. He reminisced about playing the game and imagining how it would translate to film. Despite the fact that a Zelda movie is already in the works, the idea of adapting Wind Waker remains a thrilling prospect for them.
"A Zelda movie would be amazing," Miller shared, "especially if it were inspired by Wind Waker. The game is so cinematic!"
Current Developments
There is already a live-action Zelda movie planned, directed by Wes Ball. It's expected to release before the end of the 2020s. Unfortunately for Casey and Miller, they won't be writing for this project. However, they can celebrate the success of Sonic 3, which is performing well at the global box office.
