Crack the Indiana Jones Puzzle: Father and Son Secrets Revealed
Are you ready for an adventure worthy of Indiana Jones himself? If you’re a fan of the films, you won't want to miss the "Father and Son" mystery in the game "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." This hidden gem is tucked away in Vatican City and offers a thrilling quest filled with exclusive rewards. You'll need to step off the beaten path, but the payoff includes an Adventure Book, Field Notes, and a nod to "The Last Crusade."
To uncover the "Father and Son" mystery, you must first complete the "A Nun in Trouble" mission. This quest kicks off after you first meet Gina. Your task is to sneak into the Vatican City museum through the Blackshirts' campsite and rescue Giuliana from the Borgia Tower.
Once you complete "A Nun in Trouble," you'll receive Giuliana’s Key. This key unlocks the "Father and Son" mission and opens a door in the Borgia Tower, as indicated on your map.
Unlocking the Mystery
At first glance, the door seems like a shortcut, leading to a balcony with a zipline back to the street. But there's more! Near the zipline, another locked door holds the true mystery. Use Giuliana’s Key to access a storage room filled with intriguing items.
- A sleeping dog
- A lazy cat
- A locked safe
- A Bandage
- Piles of documents
Among these documents is a new Adventure Book that teaches the Throttle skill, allowing stealth takedowns with Indy’s whip.
Cracking the Code
To solve the mystery, you'll need to open the safe. Start by checking the drawer in the center table to find the Italian Poem. Although the poem itself is irrelevant, eight letters are circled: I, R, I, A, T, A, S, O.
Next, open the drawer under the typewriter to find the Polybius Square Diagram. This cipher helps decode the letters from the poem.
Watch out for the cursive writing in the poem, which can lead to mistakes. The final "O" might look like an "A," throwing off the entire code.
The Safe Code
Using the diagram, the circled letters translate into a 4-digit code:
- I R 5
- I A 8
- T A 7
- S O 3
The code for the safe is 5873. Inside, you'll find the Siwa Photograph, Junior Report, Office Photograph, and Senior Report. Discovering all four notes earns you 60 Adventure Points, plus another 100 for completing "Father and Son."
