Earlier this morning, Sony opened up preorders for the PlayStation 5 Pro, including a limited edition 30th Anniversary version. It sold out in minutes. Now, scalpers are flipping the retro-themed bundles on eBay for thousands of dollars. Let's dive into the details and see what's going on.

PS5 Pro Preorders and Scalping

On September 10, after months of rumors, Sony officially unveiled the PS5 Pro. The console costs $700 and promises more power for higher framerates and better resolution. The announcement stirred up a lot of drama online.

Sony also announced a special PS1-inspired version of the PS5 Pro. This retro-themed console quickly became a hot item. If you missed the preorder, you’ll now have to pay thousands on eBay to get your hands on one.

Scalpers on eBay

Checking eBay, I found nearly 100 listings for the 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro and PS5 Slims. The Pro bundles, which include two PS1-grey controllers, a carrying case, and a stand, are priced between $2,000 to over $5,000. Anniversary PS5 Slims, originally $500, are also being flipped for around $1,500.

Interestingly, some people are even trying to flip normal PS5 Pros for $1,000. This is odd because you can still preorder a $700 PS5 Pro directly from Sony’s store with little effort.
