Top FPS Games in 2024 You Can't Miss

2024 has been a fantastic year for shooter games, with a plethora of exciting titles released for both console and PC. From big-name developers to indie creators, there's been no shortage of thrilling third- and first-person shooters. Picking the best among them was a tough task, but some games stood out for their innovative gameplay and engaging experiences.

The New Stuff

Space Marine 2 surprised many fans, including myself. As a big fan of the original Warhammer 40,000 game, I expected a decent shooter. However, Space Marine 2 delivered an explosive campaign, robust PvP options, and co-op missions with a deep progression system.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 reignited my love for the series. The multiplayer is packed with modes, guns, and upgrades. The new omnidirectional movement feature adds a fresh twist to the gameplay, making it a must-play for any CoD fan.

Selaco grabbed attention for being built on a modified Doom engine. This retro FPS offers chunky combat and incredible levels. Its standout feature is an assault rifle that's unforgettable.

Echo Point Nova takes the cake for being the weirdest FPS of the year. Set in a dream-like world of floating islands, this open-world shooter is filled with evil mercenaries. It's a unique experience that stands out in the FPS genre.

Mullet Madjack is a fast-paced FPS where you take down rich robots with guns, fists, and melee weapons. The game is hyper-linear and action-packed, offering a thrilling experience as you livestream your destruction to an in-game audience.

Marvel Rivals lets you play as powerful characters, some wielding guns, others using magic or melee attacks. The sense of power, especially when playing as Venom, is exhilarating.

Sulfur caught my eye with its slick art style, resembling a playable cartoon. This roguelike FPS offers tight gunplay and satisfying combat, making it a game I keep returning to for more loot and goblin battles.

The Old Stuff

Fortnite continues to impress with its expanded shooting elements. Even after 12 months, it remains a staple in the shooter genre.

Destiny 2 had a big year with its expansion, The Final Shape. It delivered some of the best missions in the game's history, providing an epic conclusion to a decade of storytelling.

Dark Forces Remaster brings back the classic '90s Star Wars FPS with improved visuals and performance on modern systems. It's exactly what fans of the original have been waiting for.

Half-Life 2 celebrated its 20th anniversary with a significant update. Valve fixed numerous bugs and added support for modern gamepads and the workshop, enhancing the classic experience.
