In a recent podcast from Gamesindustry.biz, Chris Dring, the head of the outlet, shared some insights from the 2024 Game Developers Conference (GDC). He mentioned that stagnant Xbox hardware sales in Europe have led some companies to question the rationale behind supporting Microsoft's brand and its various consoles due to a shrinking audience and lack of growth.

Dring further revealed that a major company, which released a significant game last year, expressed disappointment in supporting Xbox. He also mentioned that retailers in Europe are considering or have already reduced their Xbox stock on their shelves.

These revelations have led some publishers to question the value of investing efforts in creating Xbox versions of their games, especially when their primary market comprises of PC and PS5 users.
