The glitch, named "Legasus," involves interrupting the animation of summoning the player's spectral steed, Torrent.
It was discovered by a player named Joo and can be triggered in various ways, such as using the DLC's perfume weapons or hitting a Site of Grace.
If the player interrupts the mounting animation at the right frame, they can achieve a limited no-gravity effect, allowing them to walk on air.
However, maintaining the Legasus effect requires constant movement and specific actions, like holding guard with a shield.
Players can only move forward or backward, and idling will restore them to the point of glitch activation.
To turn, players must use a bow, aim in the desired direction, and then dodge roll.
Despite these challenges, players have used the glitch to reach areas like Shadow of the Erdtree's Abyssal Woods.
The tournament, organized by prominent speedrunner Distortion2, challenges participants to complete Shadow of the Erdtree under harsh conditions.
Participants must finish the DLC at rune level 1, using only weapons found in the expansion, and can only raise their Scadutree Blessing one level per defeated boss.
