Rayman is back in action on a board game adventure
Rayman is making a grand return, but not in the way you might expect. Instead of a new video game, Rayman is coming back as a board game!
Created by Flyos, a Montreal-based board game publisher, in partnership with Ubisoft, the Rayman board game has launched its Kickstarter campaign. This exciting project is designed by Maxime Tardif, the creator of the game Earth.
What's the Game About?
The Rayman board game is an adventure for 1 to 4 players. It's perfect for the whole family. The goal is simple: save three Ptizètres and complete a full lap first. It's a race!
- Move around the board
- Jump on platforms
- Fight enemies and opponents
Just like in the video game!
Characters and Design
You can play as the main heroes from Rayman Legends: Rayman, Globox, Barbara, and the King of the Ptizètres. The game includes four finely modeled 3D figurines, each 4.5 cm tall.
The game boards are inspired by the beautiful settings from the video game, created using Ubisoft Montpellier's Ubi Art Framework engine.
Exclusive Rewards
Since this is a crowdfunding campaign, backers can get some amazing rewards. These include:
- The base game
- 5 & 6 player expansion
- Metal box
- Additional character pieces and skins
- Deluxe tokens
- Official card sleeves
- Four large figurines (15 cm) of the main characters
The campaign was fully funded in just a few hours, showing how popular Rayman still is. Let's hope this enthusiasm encourages Ubisoft to bring Rayman back in future video games.
Other Video Game Board Games
This isn't the first time a video game franchise has been adapted into a board game. Recently, the Cyberpunk 2077 board game project was also funded quickly.
