Through crowdfunding, they've also managed to raise over $600 million.
The 2023 Legatus Ship Pack
As reported by Tweaktown, the 2023 Legatus Ship pack is now available for purchase in Star Citizen. RSI has been releasing these large packs that grant access to all ships and upgrades since 2018, and they've always come with a hefty price tag. The pack cost $40,000 in 2021, increased to $42,000 in 2022, and now the 2023 pack is priced at an astounding $48,000.
Is it Worth it?
This pack includes over 175 ships and more mods and upgrades than you can imagine. But is it worth what some people earn in a year? That's a question only the ardent RSI / Star Citizen fans can answer, as they continue to support the game despite its high prices and messy development.
The Chairman’s Club
Interestingly, you reportedly can't buy the $48,000 super pack unless you are a member of the Chairman’s Club. To become a member, you need to spend over $1,000. So, if you're a new Star Citizen player looking to own everything, you're looking at a total cost of $49,000.
Other Options
With that amount of money, you could buy 800 copies of any $60 video game of your choice. While it may not be a better option, at least you can stack them into a cool fort and live in it.
