World of Warcraft: The War Within introduces a new way to gain experience and loot through instanced scenarios known as Delves.

These Delves can be tackled solo or in a group and offer lucrative rewards if you understand their mechanics.

With the help of a seasonal NPC, players can engage in several scenarios that yield loot at the end of each Delve and each week, similar to Raids, Mythic dungeons, and PvP.

How Delves Work in World of Warcraft

Delves function similarly to Mythic dungeons; the scenarios are static but can have variations in hazards, objectives, bonuses, and bosses.

During the Main Story quest line, players are introduced to Delves and run their first one in the Isle of Dorn.

This quest line teaches players how to strengthen their NPC, swap roles, and what to expect in other Delves across the map.

Delve Tiers are unlocked once a character reaches level 80.

• There are 11 Tiers total.
• Tiers four and higher require level 80, a 548 item-level piece of armor in every slot, and completion of The War Within campaign.
• Higher Tiers are unlocked by completing the previous Tier.

Delve Rewards and the Great Vault

Delves offer substantial loot, whether solo or with a party.

Some rewards are achievement-based, such as mounts like the Delver's Dirigible and the Ivory Goliathus.

At the end of each Delve, players find a Treasure room with trunks containing gear, quest items, Resonance Crystals, Undercoins, cosmetics, Companion Upgrades, and more.

Higher Tier Delves offer better rewards, with Tier 11 providing achievements and bragging rights.

There is also a weekly World Event known as the Delves Bonus Event, offering better rewards for that week.

The Great Vault in The War Within replaces the PvP line with the World option.

• Complete 3, 6, or 12 Delves to unlock all available loot in the Great Vault.
• The quality and Item Level of the gear depend on the difficulty of the completed Delves.

Delves are an excellent way to boost loot intake in The War Within.

Completing weekly events and unlocking slots in the Great Vault can yield gear equivalent to Heroic Raid gear and Mythic 15 quality.
