Refurbished PS5s from Sony now available at half the price of a PS5 Pro
Hey gamers! If you've been waiting for the PS5 Pro but are turned off by the price, there's a more affordable alternative: refurbished PS5s.
Affordable Gaming
Sony's PlayStation Direct store offers "Certified Refurbished" PS5s in France for just €449.99. This is almost half the price of the upcoming PS5 Pro, which will cost around €800 without a disc drive or stand.
If you want the same features as a mid-gen physical PS5, you'll need to add €120 for the Blu-ray drive and €20 for the vertical stand, bringing the total to €950. Ouch!
Refurbished PS5 Digital
The price for refurbished digital PS5s in France isn't known yet. However, in the U.S., they will soon be available for $349.99, as announced by Mark Cerny during a recent presentation.
According to Sony's website, these refurbished consoles are cleaned, tested, and come with a guarantee. They promise 100% PlayStation quality, just like new.
PS5 Pro Features
The PS5 Pro, revealed on September 10, will be available on November 7. It boasts:
- 45% faster GPU
- 2 TB SSD
- Enhanced ray tracing
- PSSR technology (similar to DLSS)
- Various other upgrades
Community Reactions
Despite these improvements, many gamers are upset about the price. Surveys suggest only 15% of respondents plan to buy the PS5 Pro. Another survey showed that 73.9% of 50,000 people think the price is too high.
