The latest update, Aquarius, has finally added fishing to the game. This feature was inspired by a fan art posted on Reddit.
The art showed a player fishing from their spaceship. This caught the attention of Hello Games and led to the creation of this update.
What's New in Aquarius?
The Aquarius update brings a lot of new features:
- A wide variety of fish, from simple minnows to crazy alien catches
- Each fish has its own habitat and capture conditions
- Bait your line to attract the rarest fish
- Search the depths for hidden messages in bottles
- Earn trophies and fill out fishing logs
- New rewards for fishing gear
- Unique fishing expedition to find the "biggest catch of the day"
You can now fish in deep waters using new equipment. Fishing pots can be used to bait and trap rare catches.
Plus, you can cook your catches with new recipe combinations.
