Starfield's Future Updates Promise DLSS Support
In a recent update notification, Bethesda assured that Nvidia's DLSS upscaling technology will be incorporated into Starfield’s PC port. This technology aids in achieving higher resolution and improved performance in demanding PC games. Missing at the game's initial release, DLSS was a highly requested feature, leading to fan mod adaptations. Starfield did support AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution feature, FSR2, but many PC gamers prefer DLSS and modded it into the RPG as soon as they could.
More Quality-of-Life Features are on the Way
Bethesda has also confirmed that additional features, aimed at enhancing gameplay, will be added in the future. These include improved maps and an FOV slider. The creators have shared a list of top community requested features that will be incorporated via a series of updates. Among these are brightness and contrast controls, HDR calibration menu, Nvidia DLSS support for PC, 32:9 ultrawide monitor support for PC and a specific button for food consumption.

While all requests may not be addressed immediately, the company is eager to implement them in the future. Bethesda's initial priority is to address any major bugs or stability issues and add quality-of-life features requested by many players.

Bethesda is closely working with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on Starfield drivers and ensures that each update will come with stability and performance improvements. The company also reassured that official Starfield mod tools would be released in early 2024, working across all platforms, similar to the console mods in Skyrim and Fallout 4.
Starfield’s First Update: A Small But Significant Hotfix
Bethesda describes Starfield’s first update as a "small hotfix" that targets "top issues" encountered by players. The patch notes include improved stability related to installations for Xbox Series X|S, various stability and performance improvements to reduce crashes and improve framerate, and fixes to certain quest blockers.
