Good news for fans - the movie is getting a brief return to theaters next year.

Advent Children's Upcoming Theatre Run

Earlier this week, Square Enix announced that Advent Children will be screened in Japanese theaters from January 19, 2024, through February 1. This will be the first theatrical run for the 2021 remaster, also known as the Complete version, which runs in 4K resolution.

The movie is also slated for a US release on February 21, although the duration of its run in the US is not yet clear.

The release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set for the following week on February 29. The film's return to theaters suggests that elements from Advent Children may become part of the remake canon.
