New Creative Lead Announced for Beyond Good & Evil 2
The long-awaited sequel, Beyond Good & Evil 2, has a new creative director. Veteran designer Fawzi Mesmar has taken the reins following the sudden passing of Emile Morel in 2023. This shift marks a significant moment for the game, which has been in development for years. Mesmar brings over 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, having played a key role in the successful launch of more than 20 video games. His appointment brings renewed energy and direction to the project.

He added that he stands on the shoulders of creative giants who have supported the team before him and looks forward to crafting a truly unique game for players to enjoy.
Mesmar's Impressive Career
Mesmar has held numerous positions in the gaming industry, including lead designer at DICE between 2019 and 2021. Recently, he served as the vice president of global creation at Ubisoft, earning an ambassador award at the 2024 Game Developers Choice Awards.

The Journey of Beyond Good & Evil 2
Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been a notorious case of vaporware in the gaming world. It is an open-world prequel to the original game, developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. Despite the game's elusive nature, only a few demos have surfaced over the years.
The original director, Michel Ancel, left Ubisoft in 2020 but remains a consultant on a new Rayman game.
