Despite the Batman: Arkham Trilogy’s performance issues on Nintendo Switch, players have discovered a heartwarming tribute to the iconic Batman voice actor, Kevin Conroy.

A Tribute to Kevin Conroy

As reported by Eurogamer, Twitter user EMoore_ shared a screenshot from the ending credits of Arkham Asylum, the 2009 game that begins this trilogy. Upon finishing Rocksteady Studios’ 3D Metroidvania in this Nintendo Switch bundle, players are shown a black-and-white sketch of Gotham City with a yellow-orange inscription at the top left stating, “In memory of Kevin Conroy.”

Remembering Conroy's Legacy

For those who may not know, Conroy was a celebrated actor in the late ‘80s and ‘90s before he took on the role of Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Animated Series. His voice became nearly synonymous with the superhero, and he voiced Bruce Wayne in numerous Batman media, including many video games. Conroy passed away in November 2022 after a short battle with cancer. He was only 66 years old. His voice will continue to be heard in the upcoming game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Performance Issues on the Nintendo Switch

Despite the Batman: Arkham games offering Conroy plenty of spectacular material to work with, and arguably featuring his best performances as Batman, the bundle on the Nintendo Switch is reportedly not presenting these games at their best.

An analysis from Digital Foundry describes all three games as an “absolute disaster.” With frequent framerate drops, extensive pop-in, and abundant visual stutters, the games seem almost unplayable.
