Master Mortal Kombat 1's Towers with These Simple Tips

Master Mortal Kombat 1's Towers with These Simple Tips

Mortal Kombat 1 has brought back the much-loved Towers of Time mode, but with a twist. This feature, first introduced in Mortal Kombat 11, has been revamped and offers new challenges and rewards. If you're a fan of grinding for rewards and unlocking new content, this mode is definitely worth exploring. Let's dive into what makes the Towers of Time in Mortal Kombat 1 unique and how you can make the most of it.

What is Towers of Time?

The Towers of Time in Mortal Kombat 1 is a mix of its previous iteration and the Gateway Portal Mesa from the Invasions mode. These towers vary in difficulty and feature different modifiers, with half of them rotating every hour. You'll use the same fighters you build up through Invasions, so it's essential to know your Elemental advantages and equip your best relics.

Why Play Towers of Time?

Playing Towers of Time allows you to grind out rewards and tackle new challenges. It's a great way to level up quickly, especially if you can defeat higher-level enemies. The mode is divided into three rows of towers, each offering different rewards and challenges.

  • Legacy Tower: Offers character palettes from previous seasons.
  • Arcade Tower: Unlocks fighter endings.
  • Seasonal Tower: Provides exclusive character palette rewards based on the current season.

Understanding the Rewards

In Mortal Kombat 11, you could see each tower's rewards as you scrolled by them. However, Mortal Kombat 1 operates differently. By clicking L1 or LB (depending on your controller) while hovering over the Seasonal and Live Service Towers, you can view potential rewards. The hourly towers in the middle do not display rewards but typically offer Konsumables.

Challenges in Towers of Time

The Towers of Time also include mode-specific challenges, which can be accessed through the pause menu. These challenges are categorized into Easy, Hard, and Weekly, each offering different rewards and points.

  • Easy Challenges: Rotate hourly and reward three points plus a Konsumable Crafting Komponent or Relic.
  • Hard Challenges: Rotate daily and offer seven points with similar rewards as Easy Challenges.
  • Weekly Challenges: Rotate weekly, offering 50 points and Dragon Krystals.

Grinding for Rewards

While grinding for premium currency like Dragon Krystals, it's also beneficial to earn points. Your rank is determined by the number of points you accumulate, and higher ranks yield better rewards. A future update will add points to the different Towers themselves, making ranking up less monotonous.

If you're not a fan of grinding, this mode might not be for you. However, the Towers of Time in Mortal Kombat 1 is less grindy than previous versions, with rank rewards available every two weeks. Playing through Invasions mode can also help boost your character's stats for tougher fights.
