Stardew Valley 1.6 Update: Console and Mobile Release Date Revealed
Great news for all you Stardew Valley fans out there! The much-anticipated update 1.6 is finally coming to consoles and mobile devices. The developer, Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, has announced that this update will be available on November 4, 2024. This update will be available on all console and mobile versions, including the Nintendo Switch.
What's New in Update 1.6?
ConcernedApe shared that players can experience almost all the new features with their existing save files. However, he also suggested that starting a new farm might be ideal to fully enjoy the new content. Some features are different depending on the in-game year, so starting fresh can be exciting.

Challenges in Development
Last month, ConcernedApe mentioned that porting update 1.6 to consoles and mobile devices had been challenging. This delay even affected his work on his next game, Haunted Chocolatier.
The update was initially released for PC in March, meaning console and mobile players have been waiting for eight months. ConcernedApe had hoped to release the ports a month after the PC launch.
Developer's Apology
In a tweet, ConcernedApe apologized to fans for the delay and assured them that he wouldn't resume work on Haunted Chocolatier until Stardew Valley 1.6 was complete. Haunted Chocolatier, announced in 2021, still doesn't have a release window.
He explained that releasing the game on PC first acts as a beta test to catch critical bugs, which are harder to fix on consoles. However, he never intended for the delay to be this long.
