Early surveys show only 10-15% plan to buy the PS5 Pro
PS5 Pro: Is It Worth the Price?
Only 10 to 15% of gamers are considering buying the new PS5 Pro. Why? It's too expensive!
According to surveys, the improvements don't seem convincing enough for most players.
What's New with the PS5 Pro?
Sony promises some exciting upgrades:
- 45% faster GPU
- 2 TB SSD
- Improved ray tracing
- PSSR technology
Sounds great, right? But there's a catch. The console is 100% digital, and the stand is sold separately.
The Price Tag
In Europe, the PS5 Pro is priced at €800. That's 40 to 50% more than the PS5 Slim.
Many gamers think it's better to buy a PC at that price.
Survey Results
IGN surveyed 34,000 readers:
- 74% said the PS5 Pro is "too expensive"
- 5% think the price is "fair"
- 18.5% say it's "a bit too expensive"
To get the full set, you'll need to buy the disc reader (€120) and the stand (€30), totaling €950.
Comparing to the Original PS5
When the PS5 launched, everything was included for €499.99. Now, you'll pay almost twice as much for the PS5 Pro.
Are the improvements worth the extra cost? Many gamers don't think so.
Conclusion
Sony has a tough job ahead convincing gamers to upgrade. The PS5 Pro will be released on November 7, with pre-orders starting on September 26.
