Mew Set Revolutionizes Pokémon TCG Gameplay

Pokémon TCG Pocket has just shaken up the gaming world with its new Mew set. This update is a game-changer, introducing fresh cards and exciting challenges. For the first time since launch, players are being treated generously with Pack Hourglasses. You can find 12 free hourglasses in your Gifts tab, courtesy of the development team. This is enough to get you a whole pack. Plus, there are new Solo Step-Up Battle challenges that offer five more hourglasses for each stage you complete.

New Mythical Island Packs

The Mythical Island packs are what everyone's talking about. This set is what the physical Pokémon TCG would call a "special set," but here it’s a Themed Booster Pack. It includes 86 cards, with 68 new cards and 18 secret rare versions. The set is themed around Mew and is designed to shake up the current meta.

Expect to see a rise in Vaporeon and Misty decks. Players are also experimenting with Pigeot ex and Tauros to disrupt existing strategies. Personally, I'm thrilled to explore new possibilities for Grass decks, especially with Serperior and Exeggutor.

Chase Those Secret Rares

The 18 secret rares are a visual treat. My son has already snagged the alt-art Marshadow and Salandit. We're both on the hunt for the stunning Serperior. There are also beautiful alternate arts for Mew ex, Celebi ex, and a lithograph-style rendering of Aerodactyl ex.

Offline Challenges

Don’t miss out on the offline challenges, as they offer more hourglasses. Head to Battle Solo and then the Step-Up Battle at Advanced level. This unlocks new challenges that test your skills against decks built around the latest cards.

UI Challenges

While the new set is exciting, it seems to have caught both players and the app's designers off guard. The user interface has become even more challenging to navigate. To view your Mythical Island collection, you have to scroll through your Genetic Apex cards to find them awkwardly placed.

Despite the UI issues, it's a thrill to see Mythical Island added. The abundance of Pack Hourglasses available in the new challenges makes it even more rewarding. It's a blast to open a bunch of packs in one day, especially when even the basic cards can significantly enhance your decks.
