Exciting news for fans of horror games! The highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 for one year.
This was announced by Sony, and a new trailer on PlayStation’s YouTube channel confirms it.
Release Dates and Platforms
The remake will launch on PC and PS5 on October 8, 2024. Other formats, likely including Xbox Series X and S, and possibly the new Nintendo Switch 2, will have to wait until at least October 8, 2025.
Additionally, the game will be playable on the upcoming PS5 Pro, which releases on November 7, 2024.
Exclusive Features
The partnership between Sony and Konami brings more than just exclusivity. Silent Hill 2 Remake will fully support the DualSense controller’s features:
- Haptic feedback
- Adaptive triggers
- Dynamic light bar showing protagonist James's health status
A Classic Returns
Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the 2001 psychological horror classic. Players follow James Sunderland as he searches for clues in the eerie town after receiving a mysterious letter from his deceased wife, Mary.
First Look
Earlier this month, the first 90 minutes of the game were showcased online. According to the Bloober Team, this segment covers less than 10% of the game, which can be completed in about 16 to 18 hours.
This extended playtime brings numerous gameplay changes, though the story remains true to the original.
