Get Ready for Death Stranding 2's Epic Photo Mode Adventure
Death Stranding 2 is gearing up to make a splash on the PlayStation 5. At the Tokyo Game Show 2024, director Hideo Kojima revealed exciting new gameplay features, including a unique in-game TikTok mode. Fans also got a sneak peek at an in-game performance by Japanese singer Daichi Miura and the eerie Dollmen.
New Features in Death Stranding 2
One of the standout features is the new Photo Shoot mode. Unlike traditional photo modes, this one revolves around in-game snapshots. The quality of your pictures will have consequences, adding a new layer of strategy to the game.
Highlights of the Photo Shoot Mode
- Interactive snapshots
- Consequences based on picture quality
- Includes characters like Tomorrow Elle Fanning and Fragile Lea Seydoux
Another exciting addition is an in-game dance number from Miura and a group of dancing dolls. Players will need to uncover a secret to trigger this event. The song, "Horizon Dreamer," is already available on streaming platforms like Spotify.
First Look and Future Updates
We got our first solid look at Death Stranding 2 last year at the 2023 Game Awards. The preview included new gameplay set pieces, Hollywood cameos, and the return of Troy Baker's antagonist, Higgs Monaghan.
Despite all the exciting reveals, the game still doesn't have an official release date. Kojima mentioned during the TGS 2024 panel that unforeseen circumstances have delayed the announcement. However, he assured fans that the release date has been decided and will be revealed later this year, possibly at the 2024 Game Awards in December.
