Assassin's Creed Shadows Faces Another Setback
Ubisoft has once again delayed the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Originally slated for February, the game's launch has now been pushed to March 20, 2025. This open-world stealth game has been eagerly anticipated by fans, especially since it marks the series' venture into Japan. The game will feature two playable protagonists, a concept last used in 2015's Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Among these characters is the famous Black samurai, Yasuke, who has sparked some controversy online regarding his portrayal.
Game Delays and Fan Expectations
Assassin's Creed Shadows was first announced in May 2024, with an initial release planned for November of the same year. However, due to various factors, including mixed feedback from previews, Ubisoft decided to delay the game. This decision followed a similar delay in response to the reception of Star Wars Outlaws.
On January 9, Ubisoft announced the new release date, emphasizing the need for additional time to incorporate fan feedback and enhance the game's overall experience. These "few additional weeks" are aimed at delivering a more polished product.
