Alternate Elden Ring Opening Uncovered by Dataminer

An Elden Ring dataminer named Sekiro Dubi made a startling discovery. Instead of the game starting with the player waking up in The Stranded Graveyard and making their way to the Cave of Knowledge, Sekiro Dubi found evidence that the original game began with the player washing up on a beach.

This alternate opening was found in the game's files and reconstructed into a cutscene by Sekiro Dubi. You would first meet Melina and Torrent on a sandy beach beneath the Seaside Ruins.

Details of the Alternate Elden Ring Opening

The dialogue remains mostly unchanged in this alternate beginning, with a few new lines added. The starting location, though, is completely different. Instead of controlling your Tarnished in The Stranded Graveyard, as in the current version, you would first face a mercenary and his wolf on the beach.

You would then enter a cave leading to The Stranded Graveyard. Sekiro Dubi's research suggests that a teleport in Stormveil Castle could take you back to the Chapel of Anticipation, further proving the world of Elden Ring is indeed round.
