A new Cyberpunk 2077 board game is coming
The crowdfunding campaign for the Cyberpunk 2077 board game was funded in just 10 minutes. CD Projekt Red and Go On Board launched the campaign on Gamefound, and it quickly surpassed its goal.
In just over two hours, the project raised more than $850,000, which is 850% of the requested amount. You still have 17 days to contribute and push the numbers even higher.
The game is a cooperative, tactical action game for 1-4 players. It features an alternate scenario made possible by changing a crucial event from the original video game.
Here are some key features:
- 13 missions
- Unique game mechanics and modes
- Playable characters like V, Judy, Panam, and Jackie
- Dynamic and fast-paced gameplay
- Over 50 unique street stories
- Additional mission generator called Afterlife
The standard edition costs $79 and includes:
- Five character figurines
- Various game boards
- Atlas of Night City with 50 locations
- Paper enemies
- Lots of tokens and dice
- Rulebook
The deluxe edition is priced at $139 and offers:
- All content from the standard edition
- Plastic mini-figurines for enemies
- Many other enhancements
With all the goals already met, expect more content like extra game modes, additional weapons, more figurines, and new missions. The final product promises to be of high quality.
This board game reminds us of another CD Projekt Red game, The Witcher: Old World. It's clear that CD Projekt Red is expanding the Cyberpunk 2077 universe across different media.
Besides this board game, a sequel to the 2020 video game is in the works. A live-action film and multiple animation projects are also being developed. The future of the Cyberpunk saga looks bright.
