Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn may not have as many weapons as other traditional soulslikes, but there are still a variety of options to choose from when building your character.

From axes and hammers to a selection of unique guns, you'll need to think carefully before heading into battle.

Best Melee Weapons

Melee weapons are your bread and butter in Flintlock, so you'll want to make sure the one you're using suits your playstyle.

Here are the two weapons we think are best for the majority of close-quarters combat scenarios:

• Harbinger's Axe: The Harbinger's Axe is the best all-around melee weapon you can find. It combines hard-hitting attacks with a burning effect that stacks on your enemies to deal damage over time.
• Judge's Hammer: The Judge's Hammer is the best melee weapon in Flintlock for breaking enemy armor. Since many encounters will require you to do so, especially later in the game, it's never a bad idea to have this weapon handy.

Best Guns

You'll find a variety of guns on your travels in Flintlock. They are essential for interrupting your foes' unblockable attacks, dishing out headshots to enemy snipers, and even dealing solid moment-to-moment damage.

Here are the two guns we think are best suited to most situations:

• Nor's Pistol: Sometimes simple is best. Nor's Pistol may lack unique added effects or modifications, but its three powder charges and rapid shots make it a killer choice for interrupting incoming attacks and finishing off low-health enemies.
• Marksman's Musket: The Marksman's Musket lets you easily line up beautiful headshots to take out snipers at range. With practice, you can use it at mid-range against slower enemies to deal massive damage.
