Overwatch 2 Season 9: Exciting Changes and New Features

Overwatch 2 Season 9 Blizzard Entertainment

The much-anticipated ninth season of Overwatch 2 is here, bringing with it a host of reworks and significant changes. While many gamers are focused on these updates, a small group eagerly awaits one specific feature – a heart-shaped crosshair.

Not to be confused with Reaper's Valentine's Day heart-shaped balloon emote, this crosshair is a unique way to line up your shots. Wondering how to acquire it? Here's a simple guide.

Getting the Heart-Shaped Crosshair

The good news is that this stylized crosshair isn't locked behind a paywall or battle pass. It's easy to change your reticle in Overwatch 2 once you know where to look. However, the heart-shaped one is a bit hidden.

To find it, open the pause menu and select Options. Navigate to Controls and scroll down to the Reticle section. While there's a Type section for tweaking the reticle, the heart crosshair isn't there. Instead, open the Advanced tab and scroll to Dot Type. That's where you'll find the heart option.

You can adjust the size and opacity to suit your preference and apply this to all or specific characters. By default, changes will be applied to all 39 heroes. So, if you want some characters to have the heart reticle but not others, use the right thumbstick (or the equivalent on your system) to switch between heroes. That's it! Now, you can stylishly shoot down your opponents.

The Community's Reaction to Season 9 Changes

While the heart-shaped crosshair has made Overwatch 2 even more enjoyable, players are grappling with some of the major changes introduced in season nine. One such change is that every hero now has a passive self-healing ability.

Support players are particularly concerned about this update, questioning whether it has made their role less critical. It remains to be seen whether Blizzard will adjust or remove these changes in future updates.
