'This Is Fine' meme creator developing a game based on the dog
If you've been on the internet in recent years, you've likely seen the meme: a cute dog wearing a hat, sitting calmly while the room around him is on fire. The dog simply says, "This is fine," perfectly capturing our collective acceptance of chaos.
Now, this little guy is moving beyond his original comic and memes. Creator KC Green announced that he's teaming up with Numskull Games to create a video game based on Question Hound, the meme dog. The game, titled This is Fine: Maximum Cope, will launch a Kickstarter campaign on September 26.
Game Details
According to the Kickstarter page, This is Fine: Maximum Cope will be "a charming platformer where our famous character faces manifestations of his fears and anxieties." Green elaborated that Question Hound will dive "deep into his subconscious to battle the monsters and demons we all have in our minds."
The game description continues:
- Run, jump, and use new skills to explore Question Hound's cluttered mind.
- Help him fend off waves of depression.
- Illuminate his darkest fears.
- Learn coping techniques along the way.
Why This Matters
The meme "This is fine" teaches us to cope better with situations. Green created the comic in 2012, and in a 2017 interview, he mentioned it was born from a "very simple feeling we all have, things going wrong around us and ignoring those feelings because there's not much you can do about a burning house."
