Star Wars: Battlefront - A Beloved Classic
The 2004 Star Wars: Battlefront and its 2005 sequel, Battlefront II, were widely loved shooters that allowed players to recreate battles from the first six Star Wars films. The games may not have been perfect, but their charm was undeniable, especially to younger players who spent countless hours immersed in these games.
While the modern Battlefront games developed by Dice and published by EA were enjoyable, they didn't quite recapture the same magic as the classics from the early 2000s.

Mostly Smooth Sailing for Solo Players
On the positive side, being able to easily load up Star Wars: Battlefront II on Xbox Series X/S or PS5 and play any of the single-player modes is a treat. The games are now more accessible than ever, without the need for emulators, backward compatibility, mods, or anything else.
It's also commendable that all the DLC in both games is included in the collection, along with some features that were previously exclusive to PC. However, there are still some issues that need to be addressed before this collection can be wholeheartedly recommended.
Online Issues and Other Problems in Battlefront Classic Collection
Online gameplay is currently a less than stellar experience, with lag and rubberbanding being common issues, along with occasional disconnects from servers or loss of audio during matches. There's also a consistent bug in Battlefront II that affects the game's performance when playing online.
Other issues include strange camera bugs that can disrupt gameplay. Despite these problems, the games still look impressive on a big 4K TV, with support for 60fps and improved textures.
