A Review of Assassin's Creed Games

For fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise, this ranking takes into account the DLCs. However, the movie isn’t part of this list. Let's dive in!

16. Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles (2015)

Image: Ubisoft. Chronicles was a trio of games that experimented with a new 2.5D platform. While visually stunning, they fell short in terms of gameplay, feeling sloppy and insignificant. The stories they told could have worked just as well in a comic or book. Unfortunately, these games also suffered from bugs and other technical issues upon release.

15. Assassin’s Creed (2007)

Image: Ubisoft. The game that started it all. In its time, it was a remarkable game with large crowds and historical details. Today, it feels empty and barren, but there are still aspects to appreciate. The modern-day narrative is connected and interesting, and the social stealth systems felt fresh and different. However, returning to the game now is challenging due to stiff controls, dull combat, and a less developed protagonist.

14. Assassin’s Creed: Unity (2014)

Image: Ubisoft. Unity was a visual spectacle in its time, but the game itself was lacking. The story was boring, the main character uninteresting, and the Paris setting, while beautiful, was forgettable. Today, Unity is less impressive, and its attempt at co-op was poorly executed. Even after patches and improvements, it was simply not much fun to play.

13. Assassin’s Creed: Liberation (2012)

Image: Ubisoft. Liberation was significant in the franchise as the first game to feature a female protagonist. It was a PS Vita game, which was quite impressive, but its mobile platform limited its scope and gameplay. The game's innovative feature of using different outfits to blend in with different social classes was a unique take on the franchise's social stealth. However, the rest of the game was simple and limited, which is why it ranks low on this list.

12. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (2011)

Image: Ubisoft. Revelations, like Brotherhood, was built on the success of Assassin’s Creed II. As the third game featuring Ezio and using the same tech, it felt outdated. However, the narrative successfully concluded the Ezio trilogy.
