Discover the best games to pick up during the IDXbox sale.

Xbox has a program called IDXbox that promotes independent developers and allows them to publish their games on Microsoft's console.

The program was built off the back of the Xbox 360's marketplace, which became a haven for indie games in the late 00s and early 10s. Xbox remains a powerhouse for indies thanks to their frequent releases on the platform's Game Pass subscription service.

Now, Xbox is holding a sale on a number of its IDXbox titles. Here are a few games you should pick up:

Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic is one of my favorite games of the last several years.

In this cooperative first-person shooter, you play as dwarves sent on expeditions to mine resources for a corporation.

The game features four distinct classes of character with their own weapons, tools, skill trees, and customization options.

It's available for about $10, though it's also on Game Pass.

Desert Child

Desert Child is an old-school cool game inspired by Cowboy Bebop.

In this game, you race people on hoverbikes, stop into ramen shops, and pick up odd jobs and bounties.

You can pick up Desert Child for just $3.

Amnesia Series

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is probably the single most important horror game of the 2010s.

The series includes Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs and Amnesia: The Bunker.

The Amnesia Collection is available for $4.49, and Amnesia: Rebirth is available for the same price.

Gang Beasts

Gang Beasts is a party game where you flop around while duking it out with your friends.

It's a certifiable good time and easy to get into.

Overland

Overland is a tough tactics game with a cute polygonal look.

It's a road trip survival sim set in post-apocalyptic America.

Paradise Killer

Paradise Killer is a visual novel with some of the best writing of the last few years.

It features gorgeous character art and a wonderful premise about unraveling the mystery of a serial killer on an island.

Sable

Sable is one of the most gorgeous games I've played.

It's like a pacifist's 3D Zelda game where you embark on a coming-of-age ritual.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 & 40K Darktide

The Warhammer games have been enjoying a renaissance of late.

Vermintide 2 and Darktide are cooperative first-person shooters similar to Deep Rock Galactic and Left 4 Dead.

Enter the Gungeon

Enter the Gungeon is a ludicrous game where you plumb the depths of procedurally generated dungeons filled with enemies themed after guns and bullets.
