Bane and Deathstroke Team Up in New DC Movie Rumor
DC is gearing up to shine the spotlight on its iconic villains once again. A new report suggests that a movie featuring Bane and Deathstroke is in the works. This exciting news comes from The Hollywood Reporter. According to them, the project is still in its early stages, with no actors or directors attached yet. However, Matthew Orton, known for his work on Captain America: Brave New World, has been chosen to write the script.
Matthew Orton's Background
Orton has an impressive resume. He contributed to the Marvel series Moon Knight and created the South African series Devil’s Peak. This series focused on a serial killer and was directed by Hilton Pelser.
No release date has been announced for the Bane and Deathstroke movie. It's also unclear if it will be part of the DCU reboot by James Gunn and Peter Safran. However, there's plenty of material to draw from.
The Return of Bane
Seeing Bane and Deathstroke together on screen is thrilling. Bane has a rich history in live-action films. He first appeared in the controversial 1997 movie Batman & Robin. More recently, he was the main antagonist in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.
Deathstroke, also known as Slade Wilson, has had his share of live-action appearances. He was in the 2018 series Titans and made a brief appearance in the 2017 film Justice League, played by Joe Manganiello.
DC's Villainous Success
If this Bane and Deathstroke movie happens, it won't be the first time DC has focused on its villains. The 2019 film Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, was a massive hit. Its sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, will be released on October 2.
