Amazon Prime is capitalizing on the success of video game adaptations.
Following the success of Fallout, Amazon has announced a new series based on the Yakuza game franchise, titled Like a Dragon.
The series will premiere this October.
About the Series
The show will star Ryoma Takeuchi as the lead character, Kazuma Kiryu.
Directed by Masaharu Take and Kengo Takimoto, the series will feature six episodes set in both 1995 and 2005.
Filmed in Japan, the series will be available with subtitles and dubbing for international audiences.
Storyline
The storyline will focus on the life of childhood friends and the repercussions of their decisions.
It will highlight a fearsome and peerless Yakuza warrior with a strong sense of justice, duty, and humanity.

The series has the official seal of approval from the video game's writer and producer, Masayoshi Yokoyama, who serves as an executive producer.
Yokoyama expressed his satisfaction with the adaptation, stating, "If I were ever sent to the past through some kind of cosmic joke, this is the experience I'd want to create."
