Florida Competition Sees the Return of a Controversial Competitor

At a competition held in Orlando, Florida from March 1-3, competitor Andre “iOverthk” Howard landed in the top 8 of a Street Fighter 6 tournament. On March 3, Howard announced his return and top 8 placement on Twitter, leading to a flurry of questions about his absence from the fighting game community (FGC).

Howard's Participation in Recent Tournaments

Over the past weekend, Howard participated in TNS 9, a fighting game tournament featuring games like Mortal Kombat and Smash Bros. Howard competed in Tekken 8, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Street Fighter 6 events, securing a 7th place finish in the Street Fighter 6 event.

Previous Allegations and Bans

In 2018, Howard was banned from several fighting game tournaments following accusations of sexual assault made by a fellow competitor. Despite Howard's denial of the allegations, multiple top-tier fighting game organizations banned him from their events.

A Controversial Return
