Heihachi Returns: What to Expect in Tekken 8
Tekken 8 is gearing up to celebrate its first anniversary. Bandai Namco's fighting game has received enthusiastic reviews and continues to evolve with new DLC characters, arenas, balance updates, and story chapters.
Two characters, Eddy and Lydia, have already joined the roster. The third character, the iconic Heihachi, is making a comeback. We had the chance to test him and explore the new story chapter of Tekken 8.
Heihachi's Return
The story mode addition includes a dozen chapters explaining Heihachi's return (last seen thrown into a volcano). It also highlights new characters and introduces a mysterious order of monk fighters.
Pressed for time, we couldn't delve deeper into the story. The question of Heihachi's return remains partially unanswered. We quickly switched to VS and training modes to see Heihachi in action.
Gameplay and Mechanics
Heihachi's new model is detailed, and his moves are sharp and impactful. He now has a buff system that charges with each activation of the Heat mode, allowing up to three charges, each providing a small damage bonus.
We couldn't confirm if these charges can be used for special moves or combos due to limited playtime. We also didn't verify if his long combos (ToD) are still present, though we suspect they are.

Release Date
